I was doing some random research on backlinks to my sites, searched terms, keywords, etc... and found that my "Terms of Service" page earned a "web definiton" rank for the term "3rd party software definition" in Google. It's a term with virtually no searches according to Seo Book Keyword Suggestion Tool so I doubt there's any way to monetize it. Also I've never seen this "web definition" rank before. What do you guys think?

I've not heard of that terminology before, but then again, SEO has always had a mysterious feel about it for me. I remember when I started my first hosting company (HTTPme) that I spent considerable time on SEO. Then I kind of gave up a few mths in and just felt it best to let the chips fall where they may and then out of the blue I was ranking high in some choice keywords and that was a great catalyst for growth. I couldn't tell you how it happened though.

If no one searches for it, even if you have number one ranking for that phrase, then it won't do your site any good, would it?
But your discovery might do you good. What's your site's majority content about? Use keywords or phrases around that content and it would be easy to get top ranking within a month, without any paid advertising. This has been my experience. |
